Suits of armor are rated as partial or full depending on how many vital areas they cover. Full armor will protect the torso, arms and legs, while partial armor will not protect all three. Piece mail armor, that is armor of differing styles, combined to protect the torso, arms and legs will count as full armor. For purposes of bypassing armor, the helm is not calculated.
Anyone who wants may make an attempt to bypass an opponent’s armor and damage their toughness directly. Partial armor imposes a -2 to an attack roll, while Full armor imposes a -4 to the attacker’s attack roll.
